Health Care Is A Right

One of the biggest debates in America is whether or not health care is a human right. For your child, there is nothing more important than being able to see a doctor at the first sign of a cough or fever. Children are not only unable to provide for themselves, but a healthy child is able to become a productive adult.

Our services

ASTHMA

The air we breathe is filled with pollen, pollutants, and dust. Most children and adults are unaffected by these intruders. For a large number of children, however, these simple contaminants can make life miserable.

ABDOMINAL

Some children have frequent recurrent abdominal pain. Overeating can cause stomach discomfort. So can gas, constipation, food intolerance, intestinal infections and food poisoning, urinary tract infections, appendicitis, and many other serious medical conditions, the majority of which are quite rare.

DIABETES

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic medical condition that causes problems with the body's ability to change food--especially sugars (carbohydrates)--into fuel for the body. High blood glucose from not properly treating diabetes can damage the heart, blood vessels, kidneys, eyes, and nervous system over many years.

Pinkeye CONJUNCTIVITIS

Pinkeye (Conjunctivitis) is the inflammation (ie, redness, swelling) of the thin tissue covering the white part of the eye and the inside of the eyelids.

FLU

Influenza (flu) is an infection of the nose, throat, and lungs caused by the influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, pneumonia, and other complications.

Children younger than age 5, but especially children younger than 2 years old, and children and adolescents with chronic health conditions are at greater risk for serious flu complications. These flu complications can result in hospital stays and even death. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year.

NUTRITION

The specific nutritional choices you and your children make are crucial. Good nutrition is essential to good health and we encourages parents to think of their nutritional decisions as health decisions.

AUTISM

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can affect a child's social skills, communication, and behavior. Because most children with ASD will sit, crawl, and walk on time, you may not notice delays in social and communication skills right in the first year of life.

Looking back, many parents can recall early differences in interaction and communication.

ADHD

Almost all children have times when their attention or behavior veers out of control. However, for some children, these types of behaviors are more than an occasional problem. Children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have behavior problems that are so frequent and severe that they interfere with their ability to function adequately on a daily basis.

BRONCHIOLITIS

Healthy lungs are crucial to your child's well-being. The lungs can get infections that, when serious, can cause chronic and sometimes life-threatening illnesses.

TONSILLITIS

Some infections—especially an ear infection, strep throat, bronchitis, and sinusitis—may necessitate the administration of medication for a week after your child is well enough to return to school.

SPORTS PHYSICALS

Improvements in the quality of protective equipment—such as padding and helmets—have made sports participation safer than ever before. Even so, children's bodies are still vulnerable to injury.

DIABETES CARE

Regular check-ups are especially important to identify and treat diabetes in children as early as possible. Talk with your pediatrician if you have any concerns about your child's health.

HEARING AND VISION

The single most important reason for early detection of hearing and vision loss is that it allows parents to determine if their child has a learning disability. When children cannot hear or see well enough, they may need additional educational resources to support their abilities.

OBESITY

Various factors can influence the likelihood of a child's becoming overweight. Obesity is usually defined as more than 20 percent above ideal weight for a particular height and age.

IMMUNIZATIONS

Today, most children in the United States lead much healthier lives and parents live with much less anxiety and worry over infections during childhood. Immunizations are one of the success stories of modern medicine.

Allergies

The air we breathe is filled with pollen, pollutants, and dust. Most children and adults are unaffected by these intruders. For a large number of children, however, these simple contaminants can make life miserable.

FEVER

A fever is usually caused by infections from viruses (such as a cold or the flu) or bacteria (such as strep throat or some ear infections). The fever itself is not the disease, only a sign that the body’s defenses are trying to fight infection.
